2 problems :)

Number one:

I tried uploading ringtones, both midi and mfm, using the Edit Tool. It alway says "Invalid index" and aborts. I can upload other files like .jpg, .txt and even .exe, only .mfm and .mid don't work .

The second problem:

I can't get the handset manager to work. I use the driver from mobileaction.com, and it works fine for the edit tool, but the handset manager keeps connecting forever.

Did you check your COM settings? Also make sure that the contacts on the cable are free from debris...It happens to me once in a great while Alohas!!

Another thing is, is the midi or mfm file you sending are over 50kb? Because GD87/88 only can accept files that below 50kb. Check your file size and try again.

Hi !

If the contacts are dirty, edit tool shoudn't work either, but it always works. But thanks for the hint anyway.
I can't manually set COM-Port-settings, the Handset Manager detects it automatically. If I open the Interface-Setup, it says COM3, GD87 and Mobile Action USB datacable, but I can't change the settings.

The Midi files were indeed too big, thanks. I didn't notice, because I downloaded them from a GD87-site. They didn't check if the ringtones are too big or not.
Also, the error "Invalid index" is quite stupid for, it should just be "File too big".

For handset manager to connect the phone has to be on the main screen....eg press the red button a few times to get to your wallpaper

IRDA is the best way to transfer files to your phone! Invest in one cause you can use that for all future IRDA phones! I think its worth the investment!

If use IRDA alone you would only be able to send or receive files on by one. If you do have a usb cable, you can send or receive files all at one time.
