Pansonic Allure TX-310 - The First Screen

Hey ladies and gents,

Just yesterday I lost my TX-210 (long story but it's gone) and so this morning I bought a TX-310 Allure to replace it. Beautiful phone and I like the added features and so on.

Anyway, my question (for the moment) is this: The TX-210, when powered on, showed my custom welcome screen, then went to the standby screen. However, the TX-310 displays a "ROGERS AT&T WIRELESS" screen _before_ the welcome screen.

Is this something new they've added to the TX-310 or just something my 210 for some reason didn't have enabled? Is there a way to disable that screen or change the text displayed on it?

BTW I have already used the customization guide on Howard's site to change my alpha tag (on both phones) and it worked like a charm. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for any info!
Scott.

The carrier banner that is displayed prior to your welcome screen is a carrier requirement. I guess one should not complain as they are shouldering some of the cost of your phone (at least in most cases) In the event that the carrier does not have a banner the phone displays a Panasonic logo in it's place (I believe Suncom is that way.) It sux and it would be nice to customize it, but the carrier wants their advertising. BTW this is why the main alpha tags are locked. By using the PSID/RSID you have found a way to bypass the locks as a function of their system but they would prefer to see AT&T in big capital letters on your phone if you are on their system. I prefer for the alpha tag to display the broadcast name of the system/carrier that my phone is on.

I gotta tell you my carrier didn't subsidize nuthin' on this phone I've got now. Hehehe. I lost my old one and was still under contract so I had to buy this one outright. They are not cheap I tell you.

I have to agree, it was not fun having to explain that I dropped my Versio 136 ft from the top of an amusement park ride....But to Panasonic's credit, the phone survived the fall working, simply moderate cosmetic damage to the case. I have to believe it bounced off different things on the way down. Fortunately it did not crack the display or land on the Antenna. However, I like the Allure more.
