Samsung SCH-T300: Configuring Free WAP & Security Error

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to activate free web access on my phone (by way of WAPTunnel).

However my phone, Samsung SCH-T300, doesnt have a WAP setup option in the menu.

So, I tried to open the WAP minibrowser to see if I can configure the free WAP settings within but I get this error:

"Security Is not enabled. Enabling Security can Take a few Minutes. Proceed?" and after pressing "Yes", it then says "Security Error: Key not recognized".

Does anyone know where I can configure free WAP settings on my phone (SCH-T300)?
How do I access the service menu on my phone (if this will allow me to change the free WAP setting)?

I appreciate any and all help on this! cheers~

Yup, press 0 in the Web menu.

thanks for posting a solution to my problem.

however, when i go to the web menu and press '0' i get a pop-up screen for User Lock, which needs my Lock Code.

I read in the manual that a Lock Code is usually the last 4 digits of your mobile number. However, this doesnt work on my phone.

Do you know how I can access (or perhaps reset) my Lock Code?

Try 1234 or 0000. If that doesn't work. OTA reprogram your phone by dialing *228 and then option 1. This should reset your lock code to the last 4 of your number.

I've been trying to do this for a few months. I got into the gateway setting but I'm not sure what to do from there. Do I just change Address 1 and Port 1 to the Free wap settings? Theirlaws is this what you did?

Exactly, DnB.

I'd like to open this forum to rant/rave bout the T300.

I love this phone myself, though it has some of the std samsung bugs (silent mode doesnt always vibe depending on cosmic alignments).

I'm having a lot of difficulty finding a phone to replace this. My new every 2 is in effect september.

New phone has got to have 1x and bluetooth. verizon wont have the latter, but there isnt a 1x phone that can really compete with the t300 in terms of graceful design. I think this phone could possibly be the best designed phone ever.

What yall think?

Who feels that this phone is the best 2.5g phone across the board?

If the popped bluetooth and 1x on this baby, Id never upgrade.

I couldn't agree more about this phone. I absolutely love it. I just renewed my contract and added another phone for my Fiance (She got the LG VX4400) but I decided to keep this phone even though there are plenty of new phones with color screen's that look nicer.

Basically when it came down to it I couldn't risk having a phone that wasn't as dependable as the T300. I never miss a call on this phone. And your right the design is awesome.

I must say that I have't experienced any of the bugs that you mentioned (knock on wood) as of yet.

Bluetooth would be nice but for me if this was 1X I don't think I would ever get rid of it. My only complaints about this phone are:
1. Poor Battery Life (Not really a big deal because I have 2 extra batteries)
2. Ringer Volume I like it to wake me up if someone's calling while I'm sleeping or while in car with the tunes blasting.

Other than that I love everything about this phone.

This is an awesome post!! But i'm a newbee so I was wondering could someone explain what do i do next to access to free WAP on this phone? I've got pass the security, now what?
