I have unlocked my Panasonic GU87/GD87 but now I want to know when you go into the hidden menu and you see what is there but can you like enter it?view information or anything? What can you do? It just confusing ... thanx in advance

i don't really have an answer for you, but i have a newbie question myslef.... i see ppl online selling an unlocking cable, is that different from a USB data cable? If so, do i have to buy 2 cables? (one for data, the other to update my firmware) Cuz that would seem kinda stupid.

Once you've unlocked the phone, the 746<menu> <menu> hidden menu doesn't do anything any more, since it only allows you to remove the locks. The other hidden simlock menu 52824<menu><menu> allows you to both lock and unlock any enabled locks, although I can't really see why you would want to.

To the second poster - yes, the flashing and data cables are different, but you don't need to buy both - just a data cable and some tape. If you want to use the cable as a data cable, then use it as-is - if you want to use it for WinMoDo/CB2000/Logging then disconnect pins 4+10 - this can be done simply by putting tape over them, or by installing a switch into the cable if you're feeling a bit more professional

I think that are the same for both cable, because I just use my USB cable for all. Unlocking, flashing, transfering picture, ringtone with just one cable. I don't think that you need two cable for it.

Even I found someone post up say that the USB cable not working for flashing and unlocking, but I really use my USB cable for everything.

Well, I've got the Mobile Action USB cable, and trying to use if with pins 4+10 connected doesn't work for me. To be precise, crack2d works, CB2000 doesn't, and WinMoDo erases the flash and then hangs after 7kb of data has been transferred - which is obviously not a good situation.

If I insulate these pins, then it all works correctly. There also seems to be a strong correlation between trying to flash your phone with an unmodified data cable and killing it.

Basically, it *might* work with these pins connected, but it *will* work with them insulated.

I'm not sure about it, but I'm using the Mobile Action Cable, everything work fine for me here.

THX for the help guys, i have one more question tho, i can get a cable, but i won't have any software with it. Do i need a copy of fone suite, if i want to send ringtones and whatnot to my phone? Do i have to buy software to manage my phone? i.e. if i JUST buy a USB cable, will i have to find some sorta program to manage my phone, and if so, how difficult is it to find/buy this app?

You don't need to buy the software for your USB cable, you can download it from the link below;

You can get the data suite program for the Mobile Action cables from their website. Note that this program looks for the Mobile Action driver, and won't run with anything else. This is less of a problem than it sounds, since the MA driver is really a Prolific Technology PL-2303 driver, and this chip is the most common one used in the USB->Serial bridge application.
