I'm pretty mechanical, patient, and good with details. How difficult would it be for me to change the housing on a Nokia 8860 with a new OEM 8860 housing? I don't have any tools either. What would I need to get? I was just thinking that the slider and the microphone would be the biggest trouble. Thanks.

they have a complete tutorial on how to take the 8860 apart
ur going to need a T6 screwdriver for sure

Thanks for the site. I have one other question, please. I've seen OEM 8860 kits that sell with 6 parts, 7 parts, and 17 parts. If I just wanted to change the housing on they phone to deal with the scratches on the outer chrome parts of the phone, which kit would I need? Thanks.

hmm..
wow 17 parts eh..?
that must include screws
just get the housing for the 8860
i'm not too familiar with the 8860 unfortunately

You don't need he 17 parts.

You just need like 7 parts or so...

Like the slider, battery, and the outer housing. The rest is just internal part which you probably do no need and is more hassle. I am assuming you only want to change the housing because it has gotten worn out,

Thanks! Yeah, I'm just wanting to change a housing that's chipped. So the 7 parts will be the one.....cool. Thanks.

Actually u need 3 pieces and a battery only. You can re-use all the vibrate motor and stuff. However for 8860 it's kinda hard to put all pieces back together due to the fact that they get out of place easily. It tok me about 1 hr to rebuild mine, maybe i m just clumsy heheh

Anyways good luck!
