Hey does anyone know how to activate the call timer when you're talking to someone so that it shows up on the main screen, rather than going to call setup and looking AFTER the call is done? Anyone know what im talking about?

btw im talking about the S40

Why don't you take a look at the user guide? It's described under "Call setup".

I don't i was making myself very clear. Here's my problem. Do you know how some phones such as the Nokia 6190, you can display the ongoing timer of the conversation while you're talking to the other person? I want that to show up for my S40. I know there's a way you can view how many minutes you used AFTER the conversation is done. But it's a pain in the *** to go to: SETUP--Call Setup--Time and Charge. All i want is to view it on the main screen while my conversation is in progress. Any help? If not it's ok. So holla if you got a solution.

Yea...I'm suffering from the same problem also.
The Call Timer in the Time and Charge menu just won't show up.

Another problem is that I'm unable to disable the delivery confirmation for the SMS. That menu is also missing in my S40.

BTW, I'm with Voicestream, and that might be why.

As I said before: it's described in the user guide how to get exactly what you want. Just wait a few seconds after initiating a call and the timer appears.

The Time and Charge feature seems to be disabled on Cingular. Although we can all access the "Time & Charge", the only thing shown is the number of minutes used since the last reset. It does *not* allow you to activate the feature for any type of timers while in a call. At no time does the display show elapsed time for the call.

Menu -> Call Setup -> Time & Charge Only available option from there is "status" which shows the Last Call, Outgoing call, Incoming call, total call, and roaming charge. That's it... it's "display only" information and no way to change the settings in Time & Charge.

At least, not to my knowledge

it won't show up with all sim cards, put in a int'l sim card or different provider and you will see that option in the menu and many other appear, once you enabled it put in your original sim and away you go

The service providers have the ability to block whatever menu items they want. North American providers are morons and don't want us to keep track of how long we're on calls. Probably because of possible charge disputes. I have VoiceStream and cannot access the language menu, I have to use the language codes. Cingular blocks a lot of WAP setup and Network options.

Idiots.

OK, I wasn't aware of that. It works perfectly with my S40 on a German network.

As a previous poster mentioned, put in an foreign sim and you will then have the option to access the menu. Once you turn the timer on, replace back your local sim and the setting will remain.. just tried it and it works...

Did anyone know which Network provider will let this call timer active? So that I can find their SIM card.
