mario: ST55 has java even from the start (MIDP 1.0)

But it will support MIDP 2.0 on the i-upgrade and that's good news, making it one of the first phones to support this new java-standard

sorry my mistake...

I'm still waiting for the S55 replacement. What I would like to see in this one is:

*Better screen (at least 4096 colours)
*Integrated VGA camera (just like the ST55)
*Better battery life (S55's good, but not with bluetooth/gprs on all the time)

I think the other left things can be made by software upgrades..

ST55 has a 65.000 colour display and VGA cam, but standby is only 140 hours.

Note that the ST55 is dual-band (like mario wrote) and will not work in the US.

Infosync has a news article on the release of the ST55-

It's triband-

InfoSync St55 news article- 8/5/03

Posted by: molna

mikelaaron: infosync is wrong then, the ST55 is definitely not triband, it supports GSM 900 and 1800 only

Posted by: mikelaaron

boo...

guess we US schmo's will have to wait for the SX1.

(as a consolation for my dissapointment, molna, i'll gladly take delivery of an SX1 now, if you please )

thanks for the info...

What's the difference with the MIDP 1.0?
