Well my family ordered a family plan from just-talk. we got 3650's for my dad and sis and a C56 for my mom. i couldn't believe the size of the C56, it was smaller than my sister's 8260! i was playing with it the whole time trying to figure everything out so i could show my mom how to use it.
it is one amazing little phone. holds signal superbly, voice quality is amazing too. speakerphone is louder than my 3650's! the poly rings sound great and are very loud, and the vibra alert is strong. the menu system rules. i played with my friends' siemens phones in europ (C45's) so i'm used to it. i love their system, i prefer it to the nokia systems. menus are fast, intuitive.
the backlight even fades out!

that made me remenisce on my T39m, so i cried a little

!
only thign i don't like is that i wish it had an infrared port, but cable is fine, whatever.
now i REALLY want to get one for myself as a backup phone because i just love this one so much. great job siemens!

also, we just got the phones yesterday and i'm making sure my mom discharges and recharges battery 5 times like siemens says because i have heard some bad things about this phone's battery.

anyway, sorry for the useless post but i just can't get over this phone. next to the T39m, this has to be the best monochrome phone i've ever used.

I agree too! The C56 is the best phone for RF quailty I've ever owned. It also works where other phones have failed to get a signal.

However, I just got a new S56 yesterday, and it has every bit as cool features of my trusty C56... and more!

exactly, i just cannot get over the size. seems too small, but isn't when you actually hold it. that's it, when i find some unlocked ones for a goodprice, there is no better backup phone.

Get an S56...think of it as a C56 with a feature set more appropriate for a phone geek

only a few qualms i have about the otherwise great c56:

1) no 2.5mm headset jack - can't use headset while charging (unless you get the y-adapter), and obviously no choice of headsets

2) no side up/down volume control - you can press the up/down keys on the front to change it while you're talking, but u have to press the up key first or else you'll go into the phonebook

3) searching the phonebook takes 3-5 seconds before it jumps to a letter

4) yellow led's... i know they're supposed to be orange, but on mine it seems more like a yellow-green. on a sidenote, this clip-it cover for the C55 seems to change the led's to blue - is this just a filter or does the C55 allow you to change the led color?
