Hi guys,

New user to the board looks like a cool place.

I have a few questions about my new SL55 that I hope you can help me with.

1. Is there any way to make the ring tones/Msg tone not get progressalivay louder? It starts off really quite and then gets louder and louder. I just want it to be loud as it can be as soon as it starts ringing. I have set every volume control to full (Not on the 5 little bars on the top, just the full volume) and on the volume preview it plays nice and loud as soon as it starts but when i get a call or msg, it starts off quite still.

Any ideas?

2. Which phone book does you use, I'm just about to start putting all my numbers in but I don’t know if should use the phonebook or address book?

3. Anyway to stop the red end call key acting as a keypad lock button, it's really annoying when I press it to many times and it locks the keypad.

4. If I want to use a tone for Msg received, does the tone have to be in the ProSlide folder? As I cant get to any other folder when setting the Msg tone.

I'll answer no.2 for u

2. Use address book, it gives you a lot more options such as more callergroups and more options for you to enter such as address, email address, etc etc. Addressbook is the phonebook save on the phone, phonebook is save on the SIM, hence the limitation.

i've been playing around with #1 for a while now, and I don't think there is a way to make it just ring loud....

#2: i use the address book because i can search with more than one character when using the address book (i find that useful since i have quite a few "M" entries...it's nice to search "Mi" or "Ma", etc.

#3: my end call key doesn't act as a lock keypad...that's weird how your does...
i have to hold the # key to lock. so if yours does, then there must be a way to change it.

#4: go through the "file system" "open" the sound that you want for your messages alert ->press "options" -> select "set as..." -> select "messages".

also i have a question
have anyone use the clean up function under file system in setup i think

what exactly does it clean up
does it clean up addressbook too?
