Why are 97-99 Acura CL's So Cheap?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Whats wrong with them? OR do they just depreciate a lot? Some Acura CL's are cheaper than ELs!

Those years the cl just wasn't that great of a car. Nothing really special about them.

It used to be a prototype. Once it hit the autoshow people really liked it and the heads in Honda decided to turn it into a production car.

so 97-99 CL's are prototypes?

What prices are you seeing ?

3.2CLs aren't too bad IMO.

A lot of female management has that car, quite popular for moms too.

It was too similar to Honda Accord...inside and out. Get one if you can find a good deal on the V6 model.

I see them range from $14,000 Canadian to $17,000 Canadian (average)

There isn't too much demand for that car, that's why it's relatively cheap.

I would figure it should be in the same price range as the accord coupe

I think the model he's talking baout is the 2.3cl. you know the dinky one in the janet jackson video?

That quantity that was leased was huge. The more cars that are leased by a car maker make it depreciate a lot quicker. When someone's lease is up after the time period it gets turned in. No you have for example 350 people who leased the car. Those 350 cars will be comming back and now the dealer is stuck with getting rid of them. They either get sold or goto auction out of country or state or town.

I had no idea so many ppl leased it

Take Notice how many people are driving one in a day and you can figure 1/4 are leased.

Yeah they are...I think it has more class than the Accord Coupe even though it looks the same in the cabin
