Remove T-Moible Logo on S55

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Alright, well after trying about 10 different methods I can report that most techniques suggested on the forum do not work on the newer T-Mobile SIM Cards.

1) Transparent Logo - No Worky

2) Color Schemes from Club-Siemens - No Worky

3) Color Scheme from Siemens-World.de - Worky!

I have no idea why option 1 or 2 don't work ( I even tried them together at the same time!) But option 3 does work for me. So if you are having problems removing the logo and the techniques listed aren't helping, download this color scheme:

I was able to remove the "T-Mobile" from the standby screen using a small program I downloaded (I think I got the link from the club-siemens forum - I'll verify tonight when I get home). It allows you to create your own color schemes quite easily, and includes a checkbox on whether you want the operator logo/name to be displayed or not.

However, I have been unable to remove the "T-Mobile" from the powersave screen saver. Not a big deal in terms of the screensaver, but when I switch back to the standby screen, you can faintly see where the "T-Mobile" was on the screensaver (using a standard white background for the standby screen). It looks like some minor screen burn-in issues. I've searched everywhere, but haven't heard of anyone successfully removing the operator name from the screensaver. If anyone knows how, I would love to hear how they did it.

We had to remove that feature in our ColourSchemes, because the SL55 gets messed up when using a scheme with this feature

Using the color scheme listed in number 3, the t-mobile logo was removed from the main page and the screen saver

So what you're saying is...with that color scheme, the provider logo will disappear from BOTH the standby AND screensaver? I too find "T-Mobile" annoying on standby.

Well, I can't promise anything, but yes... on my phone T-Mobile has been removed from the main and standby screens... there is no more T-Mobile logo anywhere

My scenario is actually quite strange... I have an older sim card and prior to the switchovers, mine displayed Vstream. Then I decided to use a transparent GIF to mask the logo. Over last weekend, I guess my area of NJ got switched over so now I have T-Mobile. GIF file won't work and nothing else did - just like you. Hehehe...

Funny thing is, as I travel towards Manhattan, my logo changes back to Vstream and after a few seconds, disappears because the transparent GIF is still in effect.

On my way home today, hopefully this trick with the color scheme kicks in and I won't have a logo.

Thanks for the tip!

HOT DOG!!!!! It works! Thanks!

sweeet... i feel so good after turning my phone into a phone rather then a billboard.

Unfortunately, it did not work as hoped.

It did remove "T-Mobile" from the standby screen, but I could already do that.

It did not remove "T-Mobile" from the screensaver. Are the people who are using this color scheme actually using the Powersaver ScreenSaver (which essentially turns off the screen)? In this mode, all of the screen turns off except for the T-Mobile name still displayed in the middle of the screen. I've heard of people on other networks not having anything displayed while using this screensaver, so my best guess is that it is programmed somehow into my sim card. Darn.

nope, it still shows on the energy saver mode

oh well... i think i am fine with the clock, its nice looking anyways!

Hi StevenT,

I think the color scheme only works if your screensaver is set to display an image, as it is with mine. If it doesn't work with Powersaver, maybe you can try this... create a solid black wallpaper and set your screensaver to show that image instead. I'm not sure how much power you'll be saving with that as against turning off the screen completely but it may be worth a shot.

Good luck!

Thanks.
I'll try this once I finish conditioning my battery, and then see how the standby times differ.

another thing worth trying is using the color scheme with the transparent logo and see if that helps

Worked for me as well -- thanks!

Mine was even more annoying because it showed T-Mobile on top and OMNIPOINT underneath... guess I should get a new SIM one of these days
