I can't seem to turn off vibrate. I've disabled it in all my profiles, my group call settings and general settings. Does anyone else have this problem?

If your ringer volume is set at highest level that's why... at that level the fone will do 1 quick vibe before the ringer plays at its full volume.

What's weird is it doesn't vibrate once, it keeps doing it and the volume doesn't sound high. I've turned the volume down to one less and the vibrating doesn't happen but the sound is still lower than what the sample is.

Siemens puts this 'feature' in to "remind you" the ringtone volume is up all the way, and "not to hold the ringing phone to your ear, so that avoid damaging your hearing" [sic].

Not my poor english or a typo, it's from the Siemens S56 manual - Page 92.

Go figure....

This just doesn't make any sense... They have decided that for the user, like it or not... The first phone that does this in my experience, too. Pretty lame. It would make more sense if it would vibrate if the ringer volume were set to "0", not max, wouldn't it?

Use PSM Player or Anvil Studio to increase the volume of your tone... see if that helps at all.

You know, I thought the same thing too!

I guess I wasn't too clear:

1) When I have the ringer volume on the loudest... it doesn't vibrate once... and then ring... it vibrates ALL the time.

2) And... the ringer is no where close to being as loud as the it is when I set the volume on the phone.

3) When I set the ringer volume to 1 less than the loudest, and listen to how loud it is when I set it, it no longer vibrates but still, the ringer is not as loud as it is when I set it in the setttings.

Is my phone defective?

have your phone upgraded to the latest firmware... it's a bug... the same thing can be found on S55 with older firmware versions.

Where can I get this PSM Player? Anvil Audio doesn't seem to like me...

Make sure you don't have "vibrating alert" activated.

Sounds like if it isn't a bug, the vibrating alert is turned on and it goes off along with the ringer....
