S40 Frozen

My S40 froze up at the point where it asks for the pin code to my sim. None of the keys respond, the backlight stays on, and I have to take the battery out to get it to turn off. Turning it on w/o the sim the same thing happens- no response. I tried leaving the battery out for a few hours but it did not make a difference. Any ideas? Is there a reset button anywhere?
Thanks,
-Ken

Turn on the phone w/o sim card and enter *#337# to reset your phone.
It will take about a minute for the process.

Like I said...even without the sim card I get no response. I was hoping to avoid bringing it back to Cingular...they'll just swap it out with a refurb.

Will this reset the sim card as well. (address book and phone book)??

No it resets phone's memory only, won't affect the sim card.
It resets address book, events, ringtones, and some settings like WAP profiles.

Try to call the US Siemens customer service and tell them your situation. You may need a firmware update.
