I just picked up a VX4500 today & was disappointed to find that at least a third of the ringtones of the VX6000 are not included. I would really like the other OEM ringtones. If not all of them, then at least 'Train'.

Does anyone know how I can obtain & download this ringtone into my new phone?

i dont think its the ringtones i think its the phone cuz when i send myself some ringtones like those they play LOUD when i open them in a picture message but when i save it to be used as a ringer they play VERY low ....so im not sure on that one

i just put them straight onto my phone with bitpim is there a particular way i am suppose to put them on my phone cause u have them as qcp's and i just dragged them on to bitpim that automatically changed them into midis so i don't understand if you say they are loud they're not loud on my phone cause i have some ringtones that are pretty loud

If you want to make the Midis louder you need to find a midi editor that you can change the volume with and resave it.

Hmm, I transfer .mp3 files to my phone via the data cable and bitpim all the time, they work fine.

Let me see what I can do about a midi.

That link is invalid... I renamed the file as a .mid and a .midi but when I try to access it on my phone I get a 'Invalid file type/unsupported media'

Any suggestions?

it was workin the links from yousendit.com expires after 7 days or if too many people access it

u have to put the file in a folder u want it in then go to tools and then go to options then go to view and remove the check mark where it says hide file extensions

now it should show all your files sayin whatever the file name is wit a .mp3 at the end or whateva the file is

take the .mp3 off and just put .mid on there and it should work

EDIT: i went back and tried the link and it STILL works u have to right click and save target as

when u download it u take the song file out of the zipped folder THEN send it...it'll be too big if u send it in the zip folder

I have the VX6000, my sister has the Audiovox 8900. I tried to send a ringtone to her in a pix message and it played with the message but when she saved it to her Media file it would allow u to set it as a ringer but there was no sound. Does anyone know what could have went wrong? It was an .mid file and it wasn't too big of a file because I emailed the file from my computer to my phone from the verizon site.

Also, there is a file that I can not get to play on my phone when it gets there. I get an error message "Failed to Play Pix Msg." I've attached the file.

Request I was wondering if one of the great people here could help me with.... Newer motorola phones have a ringtone that is a voice saying something to the effect of "You have an incoming call" after a brief tone. I have used voice software and put something similar on my LG 6000.... but I like the eact one on the Motorola phones better.

Could anyone tee that up for me in any format usable on an LG6000.....

Could find any AC/DC, I wasn't really looking that hard. Because of my back it really limits me to the amount of time i can spend sitting infront of the PC. I'll get back to you on the ac/dc. By the way thanks for asking about my back. I'm in therapy 3 times a week and i'm really not improving yet, Its been about 13 weeks scense i had the surgery and man this sucks. you didn't by any chance get em fused, did you ?? I've seen alot lately about the synthetic disks. First gen is supposed to be released here in a year or so( in use in europe for like 15 already though some of that time was trials ) but 2nd gen looks much better though a ways off yet.

From what I've seen you gotta move, layin low is NFG. The numbness is NFG either I wonder wasssupp with that . Swelling and trauma should be goin down I would think, but WTF do i kno, i don't even play a dr. on tv.

i e-mail myself some ringers from 3GUpload.com tonight for the first time. on my pc they sounded pretty loud, but on my phone they are not nearly as loud. two questions. first, does that happen because i am sending them via e-mail to myself and if i use the data cable will that same thing happen? second, is there an audio program i can use to edit them to make them louder and maybe crop a few if they are too long and i need to make them under 30k. i remember seeing someone post a program that's free to download to edit ringers, but i looked and couldn't find it anywhere. i actually think it may have been in this thread, but i didn't see it. thanks in advance for any help...

Tried this with a new post but had no luck. I have two requests..."mosquito" and "city-bird" from the older model Nokia's. I have a Motorola Vxxx series phone though I would like an "alerting" ringtone and those two seem the loudest of any that I've heard besides the "Siren" on the Motorola. Thanks for your help.

Is there a program that will allow me to manipulate midi ringtones? I've found some of the ringtones for the LG VX-7000 are too long or too large. All I want to do is cut down the bit rate or change from stereo to mono or just shorten the ringtone. Thanks in advance for any help!

i can load walpapers fine ....got the right cables and all....there are so many ringers on here that i would love to use but... i can t get the ringer to upload...can somebody help me ...it tells me access denied or driver failure and i know that it is not the driver because i can do walpapers flawlessly...any help would be very grateful....

That makes no sense, it doesnt make them larger at all....

The easiest thing to do is just use Sound Forge to cut up your mp3, make sure you keep it under 30 seconds. Then use mp3gain to adjust change the volume of it, to make sure its loud enough, then just change the file extension from .mp3 to .mid

and your set.

Go out and buy a data cable then..

Don't waste your money trying to e-mail them to your phone.

Any file under 1.5 MB should be able to upload to your phone with a data cable and bitpim.
