C56 Stand by time

The box says 250 hours of standby time*(*network dependent) which is about 10 days. On the other hand, my brand new C56 only lasts about 54 hours that is 2 days and 6 hours with regular or less than average use. My service provider doesn´t offer GPRS yet so I deactivated GPRS in my phone.
The rf signal indicator shows one or two bars less than a Nokia phone. Still, the voice quality is great! Is that common on siemens phones???
What other factor could cause a short standby time in my C56???
