P800 or Mio 8380?

Im going to be buying a new phone here soon and Im basically looking at either of these phones or the Panasonic G50. I know the G50 doesn't come close but its small and Jay Chou themed(hehe). Anyways...of the two smartphones which would you guys recommend? I really only want them so I can take pics, watch videos, and listen to music. I don't need bluetooth or stuff like that. Thanks!

I think that, imo, the Mio has more to offer. If bluetooth is NOT a factor (not for me either ), the Mio has a lot to offer. The digital Camera is not as good, but the MS operating system will have a lot of really nice features... It is much smaller and has a WAY better screen. IMO it is the best phone avaliable. Now to find a good price!!!

If it's a Mitac, just make sure they made drastic changes to their QC program before you purchase. All companies have problems with QC, but not nearly as bad.

I hope this post does not turn out to be a huge "I told you so..." in the archives. The specs on the phone do look nice, just like all specs on unreleased tech products. The proof will be in the puddin'

With the P800, you can start enjoying the puddin' right now.

i was about to buy the mitac, and after reading your post it made me wonder

would you please VDX explain more about the QC and the Puddin'.

Uhh here the phone is about 400 something USD. Im confused about all this QC and certification stuff though.....Maybe Ill give it a try and if I don't like it Ill sell it or something and buy the P800. The fact that the P800s camera has a better resolution makes a difference to me so I would still consider it. And it would be really great if the P800 has a chinese text system like that of the Nokia 6108.

well im pretty sure it will be a solution for that, remember that the SPV had the same issue and then a solution was provided for unlocking/decertifying , and i belive that both devices have similar OS. AND TIME WILL PROVE IT.

Hmmm...I'm getting used to the touchscreen interface and the P800's screen size...so I don't know if I'd go for that but it certainly is attractive. I always like clamshell phones.

If its only 400, I will give it a try. Send me a PM if you have one for 400 or know of a website to order. I can post a review, once I get the phone. I looked up some stuff on this phone and it does have internet explorer correct? Which means no more WAP browsing
