Originally posted by zaku for what you said about the boot part i don't think so... cuz see Shumba has his phone dead at 30% of the image file he said. so i assume it already finished its boot sector so it went to the image file. and still he said his phone can't boot up. as for me, i got a dead GU87 while flashing it. and in no way i can make it start up anymore (tried every possible thing.) also i know another one that was flashing his phone with the a53 no camera sound, he got it stopped at the image file too. and obviously his phone doesn't power up anymore too. maybe really depends on luck

Originally posted by Bence8810 Ok. I got it now. Because I am sure you made us worried with your post, because you forgot to mention that you HEX edited your firmware. So the 53_NoSound is not bad on its own right? Reason I am asking, is because I am having it shared on my website, and I dont feel comfortable giving out something that will ruin somebody's phone. But if it is so, I can just leave the file where it is, no worries. Thanks for the info. |

Originally posted by TriMesh If the boot is loaded correctly but the main firmware is corrupt, then it can get into a situation where it's stuck in a series of watchdog resets and can't be powered on/off. This makes it look like it's not reacting to WinMoDo (because the phone isn't actually powering up when you press the power button). The other thing to note is that the code to control the charger is part of the main firmware, not the boot. Try recharging the battery completely on another phone, and then then attaching it to the phone after WinMoDo has been started in download mode. This worked on my friends GD87 - which was apparently totally dead in the way you describe. |

Originally posted by TriMesh Yes - leave the battery off, click the download button and then attach the battery and press the power button. If it doesn't catch it, then take the battery out and try again. Obviously, if it already has the flash loader message on the display, just leave the battery on the phone and don't touch it

I can confirm that the method of starting the download and inserting the battery works, it worked twice for me. Still I think I'll lay off the reflashing from now on, just in case. |
