Hello and greetings! I have been using a Sidekick for almost a year now - and have found that it is not quite what I was hoping for. As I have many friends and family in Japan, I was often at a loss when trying to correspond with them from the sidekick. While it is possible, there's no FEP and the ASCI input method is simply annoying. Will someone please point me in the direction of a phone or phones that can function in and support Japanese input? Cheers!

Most email is now Unicode since the most widely used email programs support it.
Therefore to correspond in Kanji and Kana, the Sidekick would need Unicode support, with a Unicode font that would include the CJK characters. It would also need an entry method.
You could try contacting the manufacturer, Danger.

Bugwart - thanks for the reply. I am looking to get away from the Sidekick. I didn't want to go into it, but I am looking for a phone that will allow Japanese language INPUT via a FEP as well as having bluetooth, GSM/GPRS, and a color screen. The Sidekick is a unique product, but it doesn't quite fit the bill. Any suggestions?

Qhris,
I think that both the Palm OS 5 and Win for Pocket PC support Unicode and have Japanese entry methods available.
You can get PDA/Phones running on GSM/GPRS in both OSs.
