S40 forgetting speed dial settings?

This is my second day using this phone and I already had to set up speed dials 2 times. Once they are set up they work but a while later they are all gone. Any ideas on this? Does the phone remember these when the battery is out? If this is the norm for this phone then I might return it and go back to using my trusty 8290 and wait for the 8390 to come out.

I'm not sure about this, but try to avoid using the #1 key for the speed dial. I still don't have problem yet with the #1 key empty.

Weird, might check your software version.

*#06# then the volume up key.

Might need a SW-Version upgrade.

I am using it with Cingular and the software is ver 3.1.0 from what I read Cingular wont upgrade the software to anything higher. The speed dials point to my simcard phonebook.

Also I cant get the group rings working I set them up with different rings and copied entries from my simcard to the adressbook and then placed them in groups. DO I have to delete these entries from my simcard?

Hmm, no.

Groups work fine on mine, haven't had any problems. Of course, I have version 5.0.0

Damn Cingular, might do a reset or software re-flash anyway. Maybe it's just a bug.

This happens to me as well. Whenever the phone 'crashes' or when you remove the battery, you can kiss the speed dial goodbye.
