Hi,

I have a Panasonic GD87e which works flawlessly. Recently, I purchased a "PL2303 USB to Serial comm port" cable adapter to use Panasonic's Edit Tool Software and access the phone's features using my computer. Unfortunately, it won't connect.

I have set up my PL2303 and my phone software to COM1 and it will not connect.

Anybody has any suggestions?

Ref: WinXP SP1, Serial COM ports 1 and 2 disabled in bios.

For Edit tool, you are fine, but most likely the USB-COM bride cable assigns you a COM port higher then 2. Usualy it is 4. You can check it in the windows device manager. So once you knwo what your com port is, you can set it in Edit tool, and off you go. If you use Crrack2D, you need to have it on com1. It requires some steps, nothing major though.

I would recommend the following thread's study...
