I have an s56 and I hate the headset that comes with it. I really hate Siemens for not making it universally adaptable. Do they make a over the ear headset or a headset adapter with a on/off switch?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but there is a 2.5mm universal adapter that I've had for about a week, and seems to work just fine with all my old Jabra headsets.

I got it from www.CellularAccessory.com, just search for S56 2.5mm.

awesome man! thanks for the info...I really love the phone, my only complaint is the headset. (oh yeah and the screen resolution...but oh well!)

Did this adapter work for you? I had purchased this adapter for use with my Plantronics M135. The volume was very low (even with my headset volume & handset volume set to max) and the person on the other end of the line reported hearing echoing of their own voice. I had tried three different adapters and all of them worked the same. It may have been the fact that my headset had volume & mute controls.

Has anyone tried this adapter with a different headset?

Also, I tried the adapter from Tangshop.com with similar results.

BTW, it's not the S56 as it works fine with the original Siemens headset and it's not the M135 headset as it works fine with other phones.

Right now, the answer I got back was that Siemens is very new to the US market and there's not much demand for this adapter. Guess most use a bluetooth headset.
