We must gather ourselves and try to find where the file size limit is in the gd87 flash file.. i have tried a couple of mods already but no go so far..

There is currently a file size limit of 50kb, or to be exact 52000bytes..

ive found this in a53.rel file
"BufSizeOver 50KB" (without quotes) and there was three of them.. i changed them all to 90KB but it didnt help, except for when uploading some files with edit tool software, the program said something with "wrong index" and before the mod it said file size too big.. so there is something more perhaps or this modification doesnt have anything to do at all with the file size limit..

WELL what i wanna say is that you people who are a little bit skilled on hexedit.. see if u can find where the file size limit is..

Some tips: When changing values.. do not insert or delete bytes.. just edit them if u dont know what to do..

Also if u just edit the flash, when u upload the modified flashfile to your phone, then make sure that you have enough battery power and also leave the "boot" in winmodo to red..
FLASH ONLY MAIN that is.. leave boot red..

If u follow this tips then u can always reflash your phone without major problems..

hmmmm, out of wonder, would it take a large amount of skill to edit the security file bit of it so it will stop making my downloaded wap files security files,
can't you change da limit with CB2000, i changed the Picture Message size with CB2000, there isn't a 50kb limit no more for me,haha

with cb2000 u can only change the file size limit of mms.. that means that there is still a 50kb limit of mfm files for example..

It should help if we know what CB2000 modified for the MMS filesize, because I think the normal filesize should be programmed in a similar way.

cypher101: You can get MMS over 50KB, can you save the file to the Data Folder then?

i found out a theoretically method..
IF we increase the mms limit.. then it should work to download a bigger mfm though wap.. it should work, but if someone can test it as i do not have the ability to do it right now..

don't think that would work. because files you download thru wap are saved in the data folder and also the gd87 won't download .mfm files, i have tried before

as for recieving an mms over 50 kb, all other fones still have a 50kb limit so i guess da chance u getin an over 50 one is slim and i swear MMS has its own memory seperate from data folder, i think of 500kb

I'm confused then. You said you have removed the limit of MMS with CB2000, but then you have never tested it, then how would you say it's removed? I saw that function in CB2000 too, and the first time I used CB2000, it showed 50KB, and the second time I used it, it showed 200KB. I don't think it's accurate, or even functional.

Will you try downloading a jpg file over 50KB through WAP?

lol, it's simple really
even if the 50kb limit has been removed i wouldn't b able to test because other fones have a sending limit of 50kb set by the operator so i can't test it to see because no1 can send more then a 50kb MMS max
and once again plz listen
MMS has it's own memory of 500kb!!! seperate from the data folder! downloadinf a jpg of wap would go to the data folder an use the data folders memory, it would not count as an MMS feature
