Internet connectivity w/ iPaq 3650 & SCP-5000

I'm new to the SCP-5000, and am having trouble finding detailed technical information about it.

Specifically, I used to access the internet on my iPaq 3650 (running PocketPC 2002 OS) with my Nokia 6185. Is the same thing possible with the Sanyo?

I actually got it working once. I dialed my dial-up ISP (via the iPaq's network settings) using the sync cable, connected to the iPaq serial cable, and was able to browse web sites on the iPaq. I don't know how I did it, because I haven't been able to replicate that success since. Every time I try to dial, the phone "reboots", i.e. powers off and on.

Does the phone even contain a digital modem, like the 6185, or am I wasting my time? Has anyone had any success with this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, I just noticed you are in Canada, so nevermind I guess. I just saw the Sanyo 5000 and asumed, whoops. I'll still leave the info in case anyone else needs it.

Yes, it will work. Sprint PCS uses Socket Communications for their software and hardware. You can check www.socketcom.com for the latest software for your device.

My other suggestion would be to get the PCMCI sled and a Sprint PCS Wireless Web Modem for you iPaq. Using Sprint's dialer 3.0 software you can get the Bluekite optimization software on your iPaq that makes your 14.4 connection more like a 33.6 to 56 connection. Dialer 3.0 should give you Bluekite for the modem as well as tethering with the phone like you are now. To get the software, log into your Sprint PCS account, click My Plan, and down under the "Included Sprint PCS Services" you should see a link called "download software". You can take it from there.

For information on what Bluekite is, go to www.bluekite.com

Hope this helps.
