anyone know what is causing this?
i have a friends gd87 that is vodafone branded..
after entering the pin-code the phone searches for network and when it is done with that it bumps out to a white screen and it says "security error" and after that it says "only emergency calls"
ive tried with several cards as well as vodafone cards..
ive also unlocked eeprom and sim with crack2d software and erased game data in cb2000 and factory reset.. same error all the time..
anyone know what this means??
is there some kind of lock in the phone that makes the phone work on only the friends/owners simcard or what??
regards

could it be related to old sim cards?
i tried with another operator and it worked.. but an old vodafone card didnt work :/

that would be the case
like phones, sim cards have evolved.
i have a sony phone that will accept my old voda sim but not one i had on contract.

On the Panasonic phones, "Security error" normally means that the SIM card registration was rejected. This will happen if the SIM card has been deactivated - it will also happen if the phones IMEI has been blacklisted - in which case it will probably stop working on any of the UK networks soon...
