All opinions appriciated!!!

RF-wise, T610 no question. The GD87's reception is horrible.

Don't know about the RF but the screen and camera in the GD87 is better than the T610.
The screen is more blurred on T610 and the camera seems to need a lot of light in order to take good pictures.
I have not played alot with the T610 but it seemed to be very slow in the menu at least in wap.

But anyway I have only played very little with this phone.

My reception is, I would say, very impressive. Right this second it's on 4 bars!

This means nothing. If you compare it with another phone at a weak signal area, you'll know what I mean. Most of my calls were dropped when I'm having 1-2 bars. At first I thought I'm with a defective phone, but look here:

almost everyone is complaining about it!

I'd choose the GD87 over the T610 because of the TFT screen , it's still one of the most advanced camera phones around. Though it is old and no longer exclusive. If you're looking for the better quality phone, I'd recommed the GD87. It certainly served me well and never backed out on me. Reception is pretty good in my opinion as well , I use both Rogers AT&T and Fido.

In areas where the signal is weak but there is a lot of concrete and tall buildings, there seems to be a problem. I have noticed especially traveling to Houston and Dallas. But the reception does quite well for me in my home area even when I get on the fringe of GSM coverage. I usually get a little garble and then the call drops and usually the mobile goes immediatly to searching for network. But as I have watched it a few times doing this, it goes down to 1 bar before it garbles at all, then to none. It is after this that the call drops. Much better than my GD55, Seimens S46 POS, and my old T68i

This is the best time to bring up this post for me, because it is now (or lately) that I have been getting closer and closer drawn to the SonyEricsson T610. I'm beginning to like it more and more (even though I haven't seen one in real life). What I can't understand is that the T610 is (much) cheaper than what I already have know, so would moving from the GD87 be downgrading?

The thing that's drawing me closer is I've heard the T610 takes advantage of the 65,536 colour screen, whereas on my phone, in every menu, you see a rubbish pale blue (I think to myself, of 65,536 colours, why the hell did they choose this-it makes me angry.), black and white for everything, no graphics anywhere, excep the first menu,

I have purchased GD88, because I've got so sick of waiting for T610 in Canada. Canada hasn't got T610 for my provider yet. I would have got T610 over GD88, because of Sony's Digicam technology. However we are talking about freaking less than 1mp cell camera. I have used GD88 and so far it's not bad. And I haven't had clam shell phone for over 6 years, so it's something that's kinda neat also. GD88 (or GD87) is kinda long, but at least your finger wouldn't be so sore after minutes of talk (it happens when you are using small phones). About Reception wise, I have not had problem with it. I just wished if GD88/87 could have made speaker phone volume control for higher listening sound and 1-2 more pitch higher volume on all the sound and receivings. I heard alot of complain about bad reception with Sony Ericsson phones also. It's all depends on which provider and where you are at.

I like both T610 and GD88. =)

I had a Samsung S300 up to about 4 days ago, then I traded for a GU87. I was debating whether or not to trade it for a T610 or GU87, but nobody seems to have a T610 or wants to trade w me so i got a GU87. The phone is awesome and all, the camera is way way way wayYYYyy better then the motorola T720i one that i had a couple months back... only complaints i have about the GU87 is the menus are somewhat poorly organized but im used to it now (was used to the nokia and samsung layouts b4 which were prettty similar). The size of the phone is alot bigger too. The 2 previous flips i had were T720i and S300, the GU87 is bigger then both those phones. The volume buttons missing on the side is also an inconvenience, as well as the active flip thats missing. And that green on the keypad... arrrgh it loox so bad!!! those are the only things about the phone that i dislike... otherwise its probably the best cell phone ive had so far ^^ I'm still debating whether or not to trade it for a T610 tho...

The pictures taken with SE T610 are bigger, but blurry and the color is pale. The pictures taken with GD88 is rich in color, but the pixel size is too small. All in all, they're just for fun and snapshots. Don't put your decision based on the camera feature.

i have a gd87 and my cousin recently purchased a t616. for the last couple days, i have been playing around with it and here are some of my observations:

battery life: t616 (no contest here) > gd87
reception: subjective, but t616 "feels" to hold calls better
color: t616 < gd87 (obviously)
menu navigation: once again, subjective, depends on your previous experience and your ability to adapt
standard and professional features, such as bt: t616 (again, no contest) > gd87
size: t616 > gd87
feel of the phone: t616 (aluminum casing makes it feel more sophisticated) > gd87 (feels like cheap plastic)

personally, i would take the t616 over gd87, mainly because of the size, battery life, and bt. the camera and color are only minor details that i probably wouldn't worry too much about in the long run.

lastly, gd87's battery life is really, really bad, at least in my opinion. (compared to the phones i have and used)

hmm now that u put it that way...

i think id have to see the T610 myself before i make a decision... i am definately happy keeping my gu87 its an awesome phone just that i cant get any games for it -__-

if it was a straight trade between gu87 and t610 i guess i would do it

im used to the size of the gu87 now... fits in ur pocket and u can feel the phone is there so dont have to constantly check whether or not its been stolen or not
