Gigaset Cordless Phones

I know this isn't a mobile phone question, but I am a Siemens freak and only use the Gigaset for my home phone.

The European Gigaset phones are much cooler than the US ones, does anyone know if they European ones will work in the US????

I use them as well and really like the voicedial feature. However, there are two things that really piss me off about them:1)The stupid keypad doesn't light up. What the hell is that all about!? Even the cheapest cordless phone has a lit keypad. 2) The screen only stays lit for the first ring or so. If you're in a dark room and you don't make it to the phone on the first ring, you can't see who's calling!
Just my 2 cents!

I hear you on the keypad not lighting up. Overall I am very happy with my Gigaset, my wife says I'm lazy for using the voicedial...she's just too lazy to learn I say!

the keypad prob is exactly why i want to get the european versions. they have lit keypads.

I too have 3 Gigaset phones at home. The only thing that annoys me is pushing the 'mem' button for call waiting functions. You would think they could make that function easier with a seperate flash button.
