I used to be able to edit my voice mail number under Menu>voicemail>voicemail>voicemail>details> then i was able to edit that number so when i held the 1 key down it would dial my voice mail number and password automatcally. I got a new phone number and now i cannot do that anymore..

I got my phone from AT&T and so is the sim. I think it is locked in the sim becuase when i use someone else sim i am able to edit the number. Is there a way to unlock this?

I really hope there is a way because as the following thread states, your VM Retrevial's only count as part of your Mobile-to-Mobile Minutes if you are using your actual cell phone number, and not the pre-programmed one.

when i first got my GU87 from AT&T back on 6/28/03 i was able to change my number in the voicemail menu... i then changed my number and AT&T reprogramed my sim over the air and it locked that part of the sim so i can only view the number and not change it. i know there is a way to do it becase when i first got it i was able to! I called AT&T and they deny ever being able to do that.

I called AT&T & Panasonic today to try and figure out how to change the voicemail number... turns out you can't... but what you can do is take your SIM card and put it in another phone like a Sony Ericsson or Nokia and change the voicemail number on there, and the new settings will be saved to the SIM card.
