Hey all,
Are there any places in Toronto that can flash a bunch of S40's that are 2 months out of warantee ? I've checked at www.bongowireless.com ... however Kevin is unable to do it at this time.
The current software versions of these phones is 7.0.0 ... I've heard that the latest version is 9.x or perhaps something along those lines, and that the latest version provides MANY bug fixes.
If it were to send it in to siemens for repairs, how much would they charge for a F/W upgrade ?
Any assistance is appreicated !!!!!!!!

I could be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am.. but I believe the latest version is 9.0.0. However.. I believe thats also only avail in USA via Siemens.
The funny thing is.. when I got my S40, I had v 3.1.0, and at that time, version 9 was the latest. My phone was under warranty, so I sent it to Siemens and it came back to me with new housing, and an upgrade...... they upgraded me to version 5.0.0 instead of 9.0! I didnt want to pay the money to ship it back to them, so.. I think you sort of take your chances by sending it to them.
If there is anyone else (in Canada preferrably) who does it, let me know!
I think OmegaCell only provides other services for the S40, not firmware upgrades
thanks.

There are no important bug fixes from 5.0.0 or 7.0.0 to 9.0.0 (final version). So if your phones work fine I wouldn't update if it's such a hassle.
