Dialing pauses with SL55

My first post, so excuse me if I sound like a newbie. Love these forums, by the way...
I just received my SL55 from Expansys. Using it with AT&T and love it. Great size. Great features. Already scratched the screen, but, what the heck!...
I checked the FAQ here - and actually read the manual - but can't figure out how to add pauses in dialing sequences so that I can automate voicemail retrieval, etc. You know, the ",,," or "ppp" in other phones. What am I missing? Something obvious, I'm sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Love the phone, but I'm repeating myself. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers...
