S56 Default Security Code?

What is the default security code for the S56? I picked one up at BestBuy and I'm pretty sure it was a returned phone (there was no skin-cover over the display). Anyway, I can't find the default in the manual and I don't want to lock it up by guessing. I also want some ammo if I go back to BB and try to get a "new" one.
TIA

I don't think that there is a default code bacause when you first go in to the security option it asks you to make one up.

So if it is asking me for one, the previous owner must have set it. I guess I'll be making a trip back to Best Buy...

I've been through three s56's through best buy and I have not seen this skin cover over the display you are talking about? It did come in a little plastic baggie, though. ?????

My S56 from corporate store came with a plastic screen protector, I left it on because it's not that noticable and it will prevent scratches.

Mine too, came with the skin cover over the screen. The security code should not have been set up either. Its not like the nokias where its already set at 1234.
Had your software been opened? That sucks if BB is reselling used products.

I got mine from Best Buy and it did have the skin cover over the screen. I did notice they were letting customers have the box and go through it and even saw one person pop the SIM out of the card and stick it in so they could power it up and test it to see what kind of signal it received in the store.
Maybe that is what happened and they started pushing buttons not knowing what they were doing and entered a code and then just turned it off and put it back in the box. They were busy then and not enough employees to stay with each customer.

Well, I called AT&T CS, they gave me the PUK code and I reset the thing. It saves me a trip to BestBuy, but I'm not real happy that it happened. (I'm not going to take it back because I've already got the phone set up, the RF is great and I don't want to take a chance on the next phone being a dud.)
Maybe I'll write BB a letter...

I cant imagine the average joe going in and messing around with the security features. most would wanna see games or text messaging IMO.
Secondly, I cant imagine BB letting customers go thru their boxes. They have one phone out on the stand, thats why they do that. If people were going thru the phones, for me that would have sounded a buzzer and I would have walked out right then. Most of the BB Ive seen all keep the phones locked up Behind their counter anyway.

BestBuy has a 30 day return policy. I'm not sure what they are suposed to do with the phones, but I'm gussing that they resell them if there dosen't appear to be anything wrong with them. It's a good bet that they can not sell returns as "open box" items since they reduce the prices and I'm sure AT&T has a required lower limit on pricing.
The phone is in perfect condition and the RF is great, so I'm willing to suck it up and keep it. (Besides, I still have 20 days to change my mind
)
