S40 Problemish?

I just purchased a S40 from cingular without checking this forum first. I have not yet used the phone as it is still being charged up. It seems that there are few complains about the phone being frozen. Is this a common problem? Are there any other problems people are experiencing?

I purchased this phone because I want to be able to bring it oversea and just buy sim card and use it aboard. I originally wanted to get the Motorola V66 but could not justify the cost. What do I need to do to be able to use it oversea with other sim cards? Any hints that I should be aware of? Thanks!

To use it with an overseas SIM card you need to get your phone "unlocked". Call up Cingular and tell them that you're going overseas and you need the unlock code, they will give it to you and help you through the process of entering it into your phone.
NOTE: I'm not sure if you can get the unlock code immediately, you might have to wait 3 months after you buy your phone or something like that... Also if you don't get the unlock code the first time you call Customer Support, it doesn't hurt to call 1 or 2 times more because some CSR's are idiots.
