Sanyo 4900 vs. 8100 Reception

Had a 4900 for 6 months. Loved it. Lost it.
Now have a 8100. Nice phone, nice features BUT the reception is not as good as the 4900.
Inside of buildings or basements I never lost contact with Sprint but the 8100 is constantly logging off and then on again. Just not enough signal strength.
I had the 8100 updated to the latest 115 software. But still the 4900 beats it in reception.
The 8100 is much easier on the eyes. You can see the display in daylight. That was a big problem with the 4900(sunlight would easily wash the display out).

All in all I'm satisfied with the 8100 and will probably keep it till the first of the year. The new PTT Sanyo's should be out by then.

You probably already did this but make sure it's set on Sprint PCS only, under the roaming option. This will sometimes fixes those small problems.

I haven't had a single problem with my 8100.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
