Is their a way to make the p800 go widescreen or landscape while browsing the net?

Unfortunately, no. Wouldn't landscape, integrated Flash and good Javascript support be nice? Let's close our eyes and hum on those happy thoughts.

Apparently a future version coming by years-end would have at leaqst the first 2 you mentioned.... I cant remember where I read that but I think it was either posted here, or on opera.com

Roy, I don't believe they'll have landscape. Opera will have full screen, but to my knowledge, it's full screen in the way that the current built-in SE browser does full screen. It's still vertical (portrait).

The opera folks have said that they're doing a new version that supports fullscreen viewing, but not landscape mode which is apparently not supported by the OS.
It would mean they'd have to manually render all of the text and graphics, which is apparently too complex.

What boggles my mind is why SE hasn't make pivot-ability (like that word?) an option on a basic OS level. Hmmm maybe that's more of a Symbian project.
Make everything Pivotable™
Right now I'm guessing all programs are done so with a fixed height to width in mind and not sideways expandable. Symbian really really out to think about having landscape as a programming option on an OS level.

What about MIIB, and landscape videoing?

It's fairly easy to rotate and rescale graphics 90degrees, but apparently there's no support for fonts in landscape mode. The numbers and letters you see in MIB II are graphics.

yea,
I think Sybian should have an option in the firmware or OS to just flip the screen, you could see so much more and get better utilizatio out of the phone
