Has anyone ever tried connecting a p800 to their car stereo and playing the mp3's from there? LOL

i was just wondering...because that would be cool to be able to play mp3's just attaching a cd cassette adapter or something to it...will that work? or am i just crazy?

playing mp3's from your p800 through your car stereo is completely possible. Its pretty simple to, all u need is one of those cassete things you were talkin about and a converter to make the small minijack were the headset goes into a regular size headphone jack-i recently bought one of those converters from radio shack for this very purpose. Works Great!

There is a thing you can buy that plugs into your walkman headphone jack that transmits the signal to a radio frequency. You then tune your radio to that station to hear your walkman. I believe that the P800's jack will also accept the same headphone jack. You can give that a try.

Some better transmitters allow you to select any part of the FM band, while most of them (cheaper) have a selection of 3 frequencies.

Good luck

Wow I have never seen anyone try this but myself :P I just had to chime in and say this was how I had a cd player in the car back in the day when i only owned a cdwalkman. go to radioshack and you can get a small fm transmitter with mini jack for around $20 USD :P good luck...

kenwchan,

Can you provide a link to a site that has a description of this FM transmitter that you talked about. I had a look on the maplins website, which is like radio shack for you americans, but I could only find a 'mini fm bug' which transmits to any FM radio but is self contained so it wont plug into the P800 instead it has it own bult in microphone and transmitter.

So a link would be very handy...

Thanks.

I'm using a iRock transmitter with an adapter I got from Radio shack (3.5mm to 2.5mm)

Works great! I found it at an Apple store last year.

You can get it from Buy.com

I found a Review

DazednconfuseD,

Thanks for that..

A better solution would be some sort of bluetooth setup! Shame no one seems to have developed it yet!

Ditto on the iRock, I use one with my iPod and it works great. :-)

Thats not quite what i meant, but similar, i was thinking more along the lines of stealth build for my mini. Its a weekend and fun car and it seems daft to have the CD player in it, its only a target for thieving gypsies anyway! Would also be cool to walk away from the car with the AMP boombing out South preservation society and then with the phone change the track! To everyone awe!
