Major P800 Problems HELP!!!!!!

I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, upstalled, and stood on my head about 10 times. I cannot get the PC Suite software (new or old) to load. I have an EMACHINES with 2.2ghz, 612 meg of ram, but upon reboot I get a warning,..."catastrophic failure"... software did not install on reboot"

I do get a signal saying the phone is connected on port 4...reserved balh blah blah. It say the phone is recognized by the pc and I ge tthe Mobile phone monitor to appear but in the monitor there are no phones available for selection.

Any help?

Do you have IMesh installed by any chance?

No, no such software. I have also been asked (and told not to install by Sony Ericsson) if I had Kazaa or anit-virus software...none of which I have installed. I spent 3 hours on the phone with SE Friday...they are completely stumped. I took screen shots and sent them to SE. The developers are getting back to me...I hope.

you might want to give your phone a master reset and see if that does anything.

It's not a phone issue..it's the software install to my pc. The phone shows it's connected on the"Phone connection link". The P800 PC Suite software however, shows "catastrophic failure" upon reboot after install. (the software never loads) SE has their techs working on it....supposedly. We find out in a week or so I guess. Seems it has to be some conflict of some kind with my pc (emachines, 2.5gig, 612 meg ram, windows xp, No virus protection loaded...but am behind a personal firewall which I turned off to do install...and a 100 other ways I have tried to get this to install. I'll keep every aware of the solution...unless someone knows of one!?

I had the same problem. I spent hours with SE and Dell. Dell was less than useless but SE had me disable my antivirus and firewall, to no avail. It wasn't until I completely uninstalled my antivirus and firewall that I was able to get it to work. On the first try too! I hope that helps.

i had the same problem when i installed it on Win98.. however it was working fine when i installed it on my friend's comp with WinXP... btw anti-virus and Kazaa were installed on my friend's comp when i installed the P800 software.

For me the problem was not Kazaa or Imesh themselves but this rotten little .exe called "shop at home select agent" It was installed along with Imesh and resisted being uninstalled even after imesh was long gone.
I found it in the "Remove Programs" control panel and had to try to uninstall it 3 times before it was finally gone!
I use Kazaa-lite with no problem....
