Hi Guys,

Has anyone tried to use the new Sony USB bluetooth adapter with a P800? I have trouble getting the sync and backup to work with the Sony bluetooth adapter. I can transfer file ok but when I go to the phone monitor properties, it says that my P800 is not connected.....

PLEASE HELP!!!

99 bucks....but obviously, it doesn't work as well as the 35 dollar Belkin!!!

I suggest you install the latest Widcomm or TDK software and use it with your Sony adapter. I have found the bluetooth adapter itself will function with any bluetooth software.

The "Sony" logo.

I've got one as well. It's based on the same chipset as most other USB Bluetooth dongles (CSR). In Linux and FreeBSD we use the exact same driver for most dongles. The biggest advantage of this Sony one is the size. I haven't found one this small yet (and I've got 3).

I think it would be safe to say its the smallest USB BT dongle period. Its amazingly small!

Sony gets mucho kudos for form factor and style. Profiles on the other hand seem to be a problem.

However, I did get it to connect to the MS BT mouse and keyboard and work as a modem bonded with a P800, using XP's native wireless link utility in the control panel.

Hey SSODR,

Have you tried to connect your SONY BT with the P800 using PC suite? I'm having a hard time. Even though Bengal boy suggested to use a different SW, I like the interface of the Sony one!

As far as the PC suite, goes I couldn't get it to work at all...

And, with the Sony BT soft. that comes with the dongle, I can only get the P800 to file transfer.

I used XP for the modem setup.

As far as sync through BT, I havn't looked into that. I think your stuck with nothing...

try uninstalling the sony drivers and using the widcomm ones instead..
