anyone know how to get the P800 audio player to play the music format of iTunes?
the music format of iTunes is MP$ but the audio player in the P800 only plays the mp3 format.

Well, there is no specific 'itunes format,' it can play .wav, aiff, any encoding of mp3 and now also uses/supports AAC, the new Dolby format that has higher quality at lower bit rates.
I say 'use/supports' because I think Apple added support not only for compatibility but really because AAC can also have a digital 'fingerprint' for piracy protection, something they needed to have to allow their iTunes Online Music Store - when you buy a song online from there, it's encoded AAC and has limitations in how many times you can transfer it or duplicate it (I think it's unlimited iPods if they're in your name, unlimited burns if the playlist is dif. every ten burns, three macs... It's a pretty silly list but I have never hit the limitations myself...)
But that's only the AAC format, you can go to prefs and tell it to encode CDs you have in MP3. But if you buy the songs off the online store, you need to burn the song to a CD and then re-encode it in MP3, I'm not sure if you can then have iTunes name the tracks for you like it does with commercial CDs, I guess you could since CDDB online will probably see it as a regular CD and download the track listing.
Then you could put the MP3s on your p800 - I've done it before but I rip all my MP3s at 160 and the files are a bit large to carry a lot of songs around.
