I'm a little disappointed in your review of the S40, saving that battery performance is poor is totally untrue. I was the first person in North America to have one, and I am currently working with Siemens as they beta test it for our market, I am from Germany, hence why I had it first. The keypad is the best I've seen on any phone, and I've owned almost all cell phone brands, I buy a new concept or high end phone every 2 months or so, I've had this S40 since May, I have never encountered a problem, the reception is pristine, the clearest I have ever heard it, and thats an under statement. Also, a common misconception, even tho you can go get a Sim Chip and pop it in, the phone is not optimized for North America, and Siemens HAS NOT shipped the North American models yet, the phone is available here too for 800$ from merchants, not Fido...these phones are black market at the moment, and it should be cleared up that they are not the produce your reviewing, at least not yet, Rogers GSM will carry Siemens as their flagship, and Fido may do the same by leaving Nokia, or adding more Siemens to their line ups. Basicly, your accurate on other phones, but your way out to lunch on this one hehe =) The menu's and options alone on this phone make it a god like phone, worthy of over a thousand.

u r entitled to your opinion .. but siemens SENT howard the s40 so he could re-review it .. since they [siemens] felt that it didnt do justice for the s40 ..

it loox like siemens has a way's to go @ gsm1900 ... they need to better optimize their north american phones for the north american market, if they want to succeed @ becoming #2 or #1 cell manufacturer in the world ...

Do does that mean Simpro is a part of the blackmarket?
Ok, so there will be a NA version? What exactly does 'not optimized" mean? What differences will the NA model have? I know, NA version means 'locked' version, hehe. So will Rogers or Fido really lock the S40?

$1000, eh? How much you think i can get for a USED unlocked HK version?

Siemens has been selling the unlocked Americas version on its web site for a couple of months.

The simlocked versions will be sold through carriers.
