Hi all new to this forum. I wanted to know if the GD55 was anygood? Im looking for a phone which i wont really use much, more of a backup phone which i will be using for incoming email alerts and stuff like that. I was thinking of the GD55 seeing as its small.

Could somone possible point out the pros and cons of the phone, i have read somewhere that its impossible to send ringtones to the phone, is that ture? Does the phone even have an IR port?

As i will be using for incoming sms messages, is the vibration enough to feel it? Also do the sms tones work the same in that can be changed to one of your choice.

thanks

ceanth

Here is my little jist-list

Pros:
Really small

Great speakerphone *very handy too *

Strong vibration

Very loud ringers

Nice screen

Decent RF compared to other phones, though not the best!

Cons:

My WAP won't work ( just my phone )

No IR port ( I feel your pain, I have a pda too )

Yes you can change the SMS tone...It is true you can't download ringtones, but you can compose them..and there is a website with alot and I mean ALOT of free tones.... I could be wrong but its www.universal-ringtones.net .... I like this phone alot so far!

If you have about $130 to spare and have GSM service in your area it's a great phone. My reception even in rural areas is very good.

No real bells or whistles, but at 65 grams who cares!
