Inimical's Alarm Clock!

Inimical's Alarm Clock

Features

- 4 Different types of Notifications that can be toggled on/off
(Animation, Vibrate, Status Light, and Backlight with Keypad)

- Ability to close the flip and suspend the java app so alarm will still work with flip open or closed

- Very Easy to Use Interface which makes setting the alarm a snap

- Shows Date at top of screen to let you know the current time and date while you are setting the alarm

- Variety of Sounds to choose from and easy to add your own.

Alright, I tested this alarm clock every day I had school for two weeks and tried it with different circumstances. And note, all of you know how much of a heavy sleeper I am and that I have 3 alarm clocks in my room that won't wake me up.

I tested it using the 11 different choices available. Here I will show how each Sound worked for me.

- Ringer 1
- Ringer 2
- Ringer 3
- Ringer 4
- Ringer 5
- MIDI 1
- MIDI 2
- MIDI 3
- MIDI 4
- Custom
- No Sound

I would have to say all of the 5 ringers worked ok. They woke me up after awhile going off, but it was just like getting a cellular call, so it didn't do the job like I expected. I snoozed them quite a bit using the Ringers and at times I thought it was a cell call and just rolled over.

The different Midi choices I'd have to say worked the best. They are extremely loud and sound like an alarm clock, but a much better one. If you really are a heavy sleeper, I'd recommend any of the 4 Midis along with all of the Options on. With all of that on, you really have no choice but to wake up.

The "Custom" and "No Sound" weren't for me, but good for a vibration in the pocket to notify you of something and don't want the entire world to hear your cell phone. For example, time for lunch at work, or something to that extent. "Custom" gives you the ability to record your own saying, voice, sound to let you know it's time to get up. It's neat, but like I said, not for me.

To use the Custom Sound, just hold the menu key (while you have 'Custom' selected) to record and then simply let go when you're done.

I also love the flashing light notification. It just gives it that added thing that's basically saying "LOOK AT ME! I'M BLINKING! YOU NEED TO WAKE UP!"

Only problem I see on this program is for the average user. If they want to add their own midis etc it's not the easiest for the average person to do. Of course, most of us should be able to do it, we can do alot more than the average person

Inimical has made it yet again known why he's so good at what he does and it's great to see a great Alarm Clock that I will personally recommend.

Overall, I'd give Inimical's Alarm Clock a 9.5/10.

Doh! Wish I had a data cable|

Posted by: Diazman324

I would love a proggy like this with an extra feature of pressing the ptt for a 10 or 15 min snooze, that would be HOTTT!!!

Posted by: NCTrafficMan

Mega Props to Inimical...it works great Man only downside that I found so far is the fact that any incoming 2 way message will cause the alarm clock to stop because it is a java app and I have to manually restart the alarm clock...and I am in a situation where i receive alot of two-way messages 24 hours a day...this is not the fault of Inimical or his program it is just how the phone is setup from Motorola...but it is still a great program I am gonna keep on my 95

Posted by: DaBlack

Matt, thanks for the review and for posting this but it seems that your site is down for the moment. Hopefully it will be back online later.

Inimical thanks for creating the alarm clock. Sounds real interesting and anything beats the alarm clock which I use on my phone now.

Posted by: 1LUV:)

This program is the best I love all the features that you offer, but I just can't figure out how to use the Custom feature I would love to try it can you give some info on how to set this feature.

Thanks

i got GoneCrazy( dads gone crazy where popeye.mid used to be

Posted by: thegentleMAN

What decompiler are you using, J++?

Posted by: MorelloX

i had DJ java decompiler..... just use winzip

delete the orginal file, MID, and then throw in another one with the same name whatever the song

and change the .jad file's crap in notepad to read the write .jar file size when you re-install the app

Of course it works it's from Inimical... As to the i90 at first glance it looks too big. You could pro'lly drop the midi feature to make it work but then you basicly got back to the other alarm clock program...
BTW: Inimical again Dude! It passed the first test. It got my as5 out of bed this morning

Posted by: YoDude

Did you run it on the i58 yet?

Posted by: BigMase

Wow! Very nice Inimical, you're one smart mutha, well u know the rest!

Posted by: YoDude

It works on ALL i95 software versions that I have tried ~.04. Did you press AND HOLD the record soft key until finishing the recording?
BTW: You only have to press the HELP soft key once to read that...

i had the same problem. Go into the net alert menu and make sure it says ring instead of vibrate.

-one problem im still haven is when i change the midi's i change the name and filesize and all that crap. But when i load in my phone and try to play that midi my phone vibrates and flashes but won't ring for that particular midi i even checked the filetype and its at 0 so i am clueless. I have an i95 wit .04 and CP ver1A.

I hate to have to do this, but for months now I've been checking server logs and have been noticing more and more hotlinking, not to mention the increasing amount of threatening emails/phone calls/etc.

I can't wait to try this new Alarm Clock out. Well, for me it's new. The one I have now, you can't close the flip.

Thanks Inimical

Posted by: MrKyoo

Is there someone here that can assist me in modifying the
MIDI 1 – 4 ring tones in the Alarm Clock?

Thanks

Posted by: HoBo

Whats really neat is if your sleeping and want to leave your ringer volume all the way up so you can hear the alarm use the silent ringer that way when people call it dont wake you but you will stilll hear the alarm go off..

Posted by: bigjsnizuts

Dude i use this alarm everyday its good shiznit best thing i have seen in a while\

Thanks again
Big j

Posted by: Nextelover421

The MID's on this alarm clock are off the hook...I was wondering if you can put vibra-rings as a ringtone on your phone?

Posted by: firefly33

Can someone post the file for the alarm clock?

Thanks

no it works great for my i730

Posted by: Baunch Alae

I didn't see how to do this, but how do you record? I can't figure it out. I've hit every button and can't figure out how to record. But holy ***** it's loud. I'm a heavy sleeper myself, but I don't see myself sleeping through this! Great work Inimical!!!!

EDIT: Nevermind ya'll. It's just late for me. I fingered it out!

Posted by: Baunch Alae

OK Just kidding. I can't seem to get it to record. I have no record softkey on the 730. Any suggestions?

Posted by: cliffr39

No there is no record softkey...on the 730 to record you go Menu / VoiceRecord / then make sure its selected on [New VoiceRec] then hit the OK button in the center arrow pad.

How did you get it to work with the flip closed? My i730 will only work with the flip left open.

Other than that, GREAT program. If I could just find one specialized for the i730 w/ the flip closed (and all the fonts not squished together) I would be in heaven! Thanks for the prog!

Posted by: McTurok

Can someone give me an updated link to download this app?

Thanks,

Posted by: Hurrikane88

back from the grave she comes.... try pming the guy that got it ... ^^^^few post that way

Posted by: EnewTEEL

Is there like a new version??? The one I have doesn't work when the flip is closed. When the flip is closed, it only beeps twice and stops. That is it. And when I open the flip, it starts to vibrate, but no sound.

Posted by: i8ntrt

I cant get it to record under custom. I even made a voice note but all it does is vibe blink and flash. I can see it says something under the lettering in the middle when on custome but it's garbled.

Any suggestions

Is there some kind of trick to getting it to work with the flip closed? Like stated in a few posts up, it only beeps twice when the time arrives and that's it. Some insight to getting this to work with the flip closed would be greatly appreciated!
