I was wondering if I can use snapsync to backup my phonebook from my 8100 to use it for the samsung A620/VGA1000? Are they cross compatible or can they only be used within the same manufacturer, Sanyo/Samsung/etc?

Thanks,

Yes, you can do it. Too bad the A620 is so much worse than the 8100. I'm trying one for free for 14 days and it's definetely going back.

Samsung's reception still sucks compared to Sanyo when tested in fringe areas.

Is it really that bad? Im hearing the reception and the features on the phone is better than 8100. I am going to get the a620 tomorrow, should I bother?

And where can I get snapync, I dont feel like manually inputting all the phone numbers. I cant find it anywhere.

Thanks,

Yes, the reception is that much worse. I haven't seen a single eudcated review that showed the A620 as having better reception than the 8100.

I don't know if it's a Korean thing or just a Samsuck thing, but they still haven't gotten the reception right. The earpiece is also really bad since the speaker screams in your ear periodically. This is a very common complaint with the A620.

The 8100 is far from perfect, but it's the best Sprint flip phone.

Obviously you don't get around very much as there are lots of good reviews and they are very well educated opinions. Stop the hating and quit cross posting in every thread about how bad the phone is. The debug screens tell all as they reveal the same for both phones as far as reception is concerned. I have better luck making calls in fringe areas with the A620 than with the 8100 (and that is saying alot as both are great phonse). Stop the hating and bashing on Samsung and just take the phone back already. The insults to the Koreans (which in reality isn't truth as they only assemble the phones, and their phones use alot of the same parts as the Sanyo phones, I work for an OEM manufacturer and know this for a fact) are uncalled for. Not all Sanyos are made in Japan so saying that the Japanese make a superior product doesn't always hold true either. I just wish you would stop all the bashing and hating of the Samsung products and take your phone back already. Your one phone doesn't represent the rest of the population and others opinions, so to tell everyone that you know for a fact it is true is itself not the truth. All I can say is I am glad that you are such a good judge of intelligence with all of your biggotry and hating (Korean and "Samsuck" bashing). You really show your intelligence by bashing others.

Some people just don't know how to use the search button. Debug screens show the 8100 being better than the A620. Care to compare an A500 to an 8100? Try searching for that one.

Poor earpiece volume, poor vibrating ringer, buggy software, poor reception compared to the 8100 and lowsy browser. I love Samsucks.

Some people don't know how to use the search button is right. I have seen numerous people that have better reception with the A620 than the 8100, 5300, A500, and just about every phone out there (except of course the 4900). I don't see what the relevance of the number of posts that I have to my name means? Just because I have other and better things to do than come here and posts replies or questions to everything that comes to mind, doesn't invalidate my posts at all. Thanks for the suggestion none the less, but I'll pass. Why is it that I in no way have insulted or belittled you, just asked that you stop bashing this phone, and you feel the need to insult me. I haven't said that one is better than the other, just that they both are great phones and not all of the problems you are having are common to all people. Lots of us have had great results with this phone. I admit there are shortcomings (as there are with the 8100), but I am have settled myself to live with them. I just ask that if you can't, then take it back and stop all the hate. Geez, it is just a phone anyway and not worth all the trouble. I don't post much here for just this reason. When you try to help people out with their problems, people get belittled and berated here and not at other boards in this manner. As for educated responses, I work for a major OEM manufacturer for the handset industry and see almost everything out there (and I am a liscenced amatuer radio technician and engineer/technician). I get the chance to test and compare almost all handsets. This is a good handset that is feature rich (as is the 8100), but both are definitely suited to a different market. Do a search and you will find that the trouble sheet for the 8100 is over 4 pages front and back currently, so it is not the end all perfect handset (but is very good, just has errors that most don't notice or find). As for doing a search, I did and found your last post about the 8100 vs the A620. Lots of good info in there, this is what I would consider a good and well versed response (although most ratings are on personal preference). There is lots of factual backing, but also lots of personal bias, which proves my point that the perfect handset is the one that fits the needs of the person best. I did notice that you never mentioned anything about the voice command of the A620, which is one of the main reasons I purchased this handset and continue to keep it. Although, I would like to know how you have used the 8100 for over a year with no lockups, when the phone was only released the latter part of April (6 months)? I know because that is when I bought both of mine, day 1. The debug on my A620 shows the exact same db as the 8100, but I can make and hold calls in areas where my 8100 has lost signal.

you could however buy the sanyo cable, use it then take it back. oh yeah you can buy it all at fry's or Best Buy. I work at best buy for sprint I know they have it there. hope this helps.

Someone tries to straighten things out and help and everyone is a critic. The long winded response is due to the fact of the edited comments that you haven't seen obviously (as they were removed by a moderator). I won't sink to the level of the other poster by berating you for your lack of posts (as I was, which he equates to a lack of knowledge, but if you keep with your comments about posters he will be on you next) and just add that if you want to be even lazier than buying it, using it, and then returning it (which is technically fraud, but hey we all do it), just take it to Sprint and they will transfer it for you. They now have the software and do this free of charge (started this service about 2-3 weeks ago).
