for that price I'll buy an hbh-60 or maybe an hbh-200 and start saving for a phone that has an MP3 player...or maybe get an ipod.

Yipe - Yah, I give up. Incredibly expensive!

And so on your recommendation, I just bought an iPod yesterday (40GB - schweet!)

Well, I might have been thinking about one for a few more months beforehand...

wow, thats a lot of space, I don't see how someone can get more than 5GB of MP3s.

Well, surprisingly I don't collect MP3s - I chose for the higher-quality AAC Dolby encoding option (I don't trade so AAC is perfect, but they can easily be transcoded to MP3 should I need 'em) and with my 155 albums I'm already at 5.3GB. Ooops, bought "Bat Out Of Hell" last night for 7.50 Euros, but you see how this can go...

But the iPod is excellent - I ripped them in the last 2 days easily and are all in the system, all nice and organized. And then when I want to listen to music, I grab the pod, make a quick playlist, plop it onto it's dock and play it through my Pioneer home cinema...it's SO damn easy to get a few hours of music going!

Pros: it looks like it is about 60% smaller than an ipod. No moveable parts.

Cons: not much memory space and you have to buy duos

Posted by: virtualdynamix

It is very expensive, but.. it's also very nice. I hope it takes the new 256MB Duo Pro. Since I carry my PDA most of the time, it makes more sense for me to just load it up with a 512MB SD card and have it do double duty.

If you have the $$$, it's another nice gadget from our friends at SE. I hope the flash accessory comes out soon. That's something that I'll certainly buy eventhough it also seems overpriced.

If you mean the flash accessory for taking pictures with your P800, it is out. Got one yesterday. It is small, well built and comes with a cute case. Otherwise, pretty useless I think.

It is not a flash, instead it is a 6 LED light, from what I can tell so far. You turn it on, like a flashlight, and take pictures. Seemed not much help in a normally lighted room but, I guess it would be essential in a dark room. Maybe good for the video camera function on a P800.

I'll play with it more and see if my initial reactions is wrong - you can get one at www.expansys.com.

I would agree with you, but for only one thing - the max on the P800 seems to be 128MB. Others (Expansys) have tested it and it won't work with the current system.

That said, all we need to do is wait/get Sony to update the system to use the cards. They should, but then again, they should update the entire system to UIQ 2.1, if they do what users ask.

Frankly, instead of waiting, I bought an iPod. Who know when/if Sony will do the right thing. How long are you prepared to wait it out?

Besides, I like having all my music at hand at all times...which is a completely different rhythm than just playing what's available. It's really nice not to HAVE to listen to anything in particular, just because it's all I loaded.

Oddly, I find I'm no-longer focusing only on albums, but now in genres and riff between them. Finding really weird tracks that belong together and making a playlist is my new game.

The damn thing just flows music, and I'm diggin' it.

It's time to get the OpenBrain OBH-0100. There are no wires on the device besides the one that connects from headphone to headphone and it connect by only using Bluetooth. If any of you need a review, I'll be posting one up on http://www.noirgroup.tk soon. The unit is also estimated around $250 or so.

SE lowerd the price to $275
