How many minutes on pre paid cards.

Hi,
I bought a 10 dollar phone card and only got 6 min out of the damn thing. Isn't it 30 cents per minute meaning a little over 30 min? And are calls under a minute rounded up to a minute? Because I made an 18 second call and from 3 min remaining, it went to 2.

TIA

potentially your recieving calls out of your LCA (if you leave the area your number is from) there is the chance its routing through a tower that is ld from your home area, therefore you could be recieving incoming long distance which costs you LD along with your minutes.

Also you were aware of your airtime before you added the card? perhaps it was a negative amount? the card pays you out of the negative and the remainder would be able to be used.

The account had a balance of $0 so I dont think it was negative. Also I use the phone down town where there are many towers. Should i call BM and ask them about it?

Calling Bell will get your answers but consider the following.

Fido (Microcell) is the only carrier (in Canada) with per second billing.

Bell might have an online access to your account for you to look at and compare your calls as you know it and how Bell sees it.
(I don't use Bell so I'm not sure about the online thing.)

any recurring features you might not be aware of? if you add airtime and you have a billable service you will get dinged for it for the months you did not topup.

There is no online ability to see your prepaid billing, you would have to call in to review.

Well I called and was told my 10 second calls counted for a full minute. So I technically I talked for 31 minutes instead of hte actual 6.

false.

fido's prepaid service is also billed by the minute, so there wouldn't be any difference there...as well, bell has monthly plans that are also billed by the second.

Sorry, I was assuming the pay per second was across the board for Fido. Thanks for correcting me.
