Just got my S40 and put in an "Owner ID" as the manual states. I turned on the "Show at power up" option, but nothing comes up.

It says press >>Owner>> during the power up phase to see the contents of our owner ID.

How do you press OWNER on power up??

Just wait a few seconds after power on and it appears.

I have had the phone on for a long time.
Nothing ever appears.

I think the owner ID is only for beaming business card to other people. But there's too many function for S40, no need to worry about small thing, hehe....

maybe a silly question, but have you set up your owner information? turn on the phone and don´t enter the pin (otherwise you get ´ok´ on your screen instead of ´Owner´)and it should appear.

I press menu

then press phone setup

Then press Owner ID

I go to Edit

My name is in there along with my home phone.

I press select then OK
Then Exit
Show at Power Up is also showing on the screen

Power down the phone ...turn it back on.

No owner ID....am I missing something here.
Is it supposed to show my name that I had entered? I get the feeling maybe its supposed to show a graphic???

no, the option ´owner ID´ should show you the same information as when you choose detail in your phonebook.

I guess something is wrong with your software. but if it´s the only bug you encounter, I wouldn´t bother. it isn´t very useful, I think.

On my S40, the owner information is only shown when the pin lock is enable. During the screen asking for pin code, the green button will change to 'Owner' option. Choosing that option will review the owner information. If pin lock is disabled, nothing is shown during start up. (Alternatively, you can try putting your name and other information in the greeting message if you want to see it during start up)

Same here, I have SW Version 5.0.0
