Take a look at this. It's written for getting DVD's on a PDA, but the process and tools are the same.

i used ULEADVIDEOSTUDIO to convert my movie as MPEG,AVI,WMV,RN,Divx ....and i used POCKETTV on my mitac to play it! i used this program always to convert my video for my laptop, ipaq and to my archos av340. the fps is alway perfect when playing in my mitac mio 8380... TRY IT!!!

That sounds pretty amazing.

Can you get full films on there?

What's the resolution?

yes!!! you can watch a full movie on your mitac as long as the battery will last and you have about 256mb of the SD card but i think a 128mb will do coz you have to convert the movie and resize the resolution to fit to your mitac screen anyway!!! basically you need to resize the video about 240/180 and about 23fps of frame rate! and also you have to install a app player on your mitac get POCKETTV www.pockettv.com is a freeware and one of the best mpeg player for pocket pc & smartphone out there!!! you can't play any mpeg movies w/out it! so get that in you phone first if your mitac is app unlocked if not get it unlocked if you can!!! go to cnet and download ulead videostudio is a shareware but you have 30 days to try it.... good luck!!!

Wow. That's including sound?

So how long a running time do you get with a 128 or 256 at 240/180 and about 23fps?

This sounds awesome, I may just pick one up because of this.

Though I'm a little worried I should wait for the 8390?

hey, why can't you watch mpegs on the media player?! I want to watch movies on windows media, is it possible?

I downloaded some episodes of the Simpsons (in avi format) and watched them using media player. Frame rate was jumpy - seemed more like I was watching something being streamed, but I didn't care as I haven't seen a new episode of the Simpsons for about 2 years.

What sucks is that the Windows Media Player function doesn't seem to have a fast-forward feature...

If you are sqeezed for space you can convert avi to wmv. I agree about the fast forward. Does anyone know if WMP can do this function somehow
