I just bought the sanyo 8100 phone and it still has the last users lock code on it. It says "full locked". Is there a way to reset the phone so this goes away. I don't want any of his last info or anything. I just want a fresh new phone to use elsewhere.
Help please!

you need the msl to reset it... hit ##768 and then save, then go to the menu of that and hit reset... after you have the msl code.

If the phone is currently locked your only choice is to take it to a full service Sprint store. Ask the tech to have it unlocked, and referbed. However if the phone is lost, stolen, or linked to a delinquent account you cannot activate it.

I was playing with some combinations then unlocked it. Now the phone is fully unlocked and resetted to factory settings. However I cannot use this on any of the networks in Canada so I gotta sell it off. Even with the MSL code I couldn't do anything.
Anyways thanks everyone for the help.
P.S. I now own an Audiovox 8600

No CDMA providers operating at 800Mhz or 1900Mhz? That's ashame. The Sanyo 8100 is tri-mode.

I live in Canada too, and I've been waiting for my 8100 for about a week now (besides the point). But should have tried to find some boot legged place to activate for you, or complain that you don't like the providers' phone.
I've been with my provider for years-and I've bought 3-4 of their crappy phones so they should not have the nerve to tell me that they cannot hook up my phone. They CAN activate it, its a tri mode phone-BUT its the representatives that won't let you since they're losing money. You gotta trick them. Or if you know someone who works as customer service for any Canadian company-try to see it they can do it for you.
Hope that helps anyone else-and I hope it works for me when I get mine
But technically-anyone can hook up a trimode phone!!!
VERY USEFULL SITE FOR UNLOCKING
