Having now owned both the SX56 and the P800, I would have to say that the P800 beats the PPCPE-based devices hands down for phone features and reception. This is not to say the A920 will do the same, but I can't imagine it being any worse.

I really enjoy using the Symbian OS with the UIQ interface. 90% of it can be learned just by adventuring through it. Most everything is laid out in a logical fashion.

The PPCPE devices like the SX56 and XDA/XDA-II have this annoying bug... it's called a Micro$oft operating system. Every PPC I've ever owned that's run any version of WinCE has needed numerous reboots throughout the day. When you combine that instability with a phone, you end up missing a lot of calls due to the rebooting necessity.

But I will hand it to M$... for business-minded people, the PPC/PPCPE is a great device. There's a lot of applications written for that platform; a significant number of them are freeware. The built-in M$ document support is great for editing docs and spreadsheets while "on the road". Outlook synchronizes perfectly, and with categories too. So there's still a place in the world for those devices.

BTW... the main reason I got rid of the SX56 is because my signifcant other said I looked like Maxwell Smart when talking on it (she said it resembled a shoe while in its OEM case). It is by no means considered small enough to be a "cell". You'd be better off with an SPV if you want a cell-sized M$ convergence device.

Thanks that's very helpful. Avoid the M$ system, makes sense!

Does the P800 or 900 have speakerphone? MP3?

Now I'm looking at it the size of the A920 looks like a freakin BRICK.

148 x 60 x 24 mm

Isn't there a smaller SUPER smart phone?

Yes, both MP3 support and built-in speakerphone for both P-phones.

The P800 is a bit smaller in dimensions than the A920:

117mm x 59mm x 27mm
