Hey guys, I've been thinking about getting either the P800, cause it's cheaper than the P900, or the P900 cause it has a better screen and looks better over all. I do have a few questions though.
Here's my questions. I'm in college right now, what i would like to be able to do is use the P800/P900 to record class lectures, I sit in front of the class most of the time to stay awake, but I was wondering how well do these PDA/Cell phones record? I now have to carry a seperate recorder cause the recorder on the T616 in no where near large enough to record an hour or two hour lectures. I can upgrade the memory on the P800/P900 so if it does it well, that's a plus.
Another question, what are the limits of the P800/P900 in terms of word processing? Can I get one of those little fold away keyboards and just type my notes into it?
It has all the cool stuf that I like, you know, the Mp3 player, camera, video recorder yada yada yada, but can a college student get any real use out of this? Someone please give me an opinion

i just ordered a P800 (getting it tomorrow!!!!) for similar reasons. I can't really justify the extra money for the P900. I am going to use the voice recorder once I get a larger memory stick. This is essential for recording lecutres. Unfortunately, I cannot coment on how much room this will take up.
As well, I am using it for the Word and Excell viewing capablitities. I am sure that eventually I will be able to write full reports on it. It is mearly a matter of time before there is the equivalent of a "pocket word" or "pocket excell" for UIQ devices.

you won't be able to record lectures with it

Is your recorder not good enough? Seems like a better idea than a $500 recorder.
I'm a 2nd year university student and have saved a long time for a p800 but am now just going to stump up the extra cash for the p900. I'd use it as an organizer etc and surf the net at school and would use my t610 on the weekends when out.
My uncle has a p800 and it's great but I don't really want to invest in an 'old' product. It's still great though.
Get the p800/900 for the great functionality, but not to use as a recorder.

Of course, I'v wanted the P800 for a long time now, and I definately like the P900. Was just wondering if the voice recorder would be any use for me. It would be cool and I'm sure beneficial to have the lectures on Digital Media that I can transfer to my computer. I'll probably start looking for buyers of my T616 once I see the price of the P900. I guess nobody has an idean of the cost huh. Thanks for the replies
