Here's a little FYI,

I have read from some other threads the maker of the Audiovox 8600 (and I am assuming a few more models) is made by a Korean company call Pantech and Curitel.

wow it hurts me sooo bad that we can't have high quality HYUNDAI phones (kidding, i hate my 8500)

I've read a lot of bad reviews about the 8500. I don't get it because the CDM-8600 is a great phone. I have no complaints about it...yet. So far so good. I kinda wish I had more selection, or I probably wouldn't have gotten it, but oh well. It's a nice phone.
