Has anyone figured out how to download pictures through the data cable to a computer without having to send them over the network?

Sometimes when I'm traveling and get into a hotel in a small town I can't connect to send the pictures. Its a shame to have my computer with a data base and not be able to download the pics.

This can be done and as you may have guessed, it requires the data cable and a program such as <a href="http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/">BitPim </a>

1. Once in BitPim go to the filesystem tab. There are many potential problems with getting BitPim to see your phone so you might have to search the forum for more info. Mine works with the com port set to auto.

2. In the filesystem tab you will see a little + with a / next to it. Clisck on the +. This will expand and show you the filesystem of your phone.

3. Click on the + next to the cam directory and you should see your pictures.

4. Right click and save your pictures. You can also right click and backup the cam directory wich will save the entire directory as a zip file. This is a bit quicker than saving each individual picture.

5. You can delete the pictures in BitPim but I would recommend using the erase all option in the camera gallery (menu 1 2 options 8)
